Douglas High School Alumni Association
and friends of DHS
A Douglas High School Alumni Association has been formed in the hopes of bringing the past, present, and future together for the betterment of our schools and community. We are also hoping to build a sense of tradition and instill ongoing pride.
As the school budget crisis continues to impact our schools, the alumni and friends of DHS are coming together to try to help make a difference. The first project we will be working on is building a covered grandstand which will include raising the current bleachers and adding a concrete handicap accessibility ramp, allowing for a better view from every seat.
Currently the grandstand is our focus; however we have other projects in sight. Plans are being made for an alumni football game followed by dinner ans a social gathering. We are currently working on a website and are planing for newsletters updates. In the future we have hopes of offering scolarships as well as mentoring programs.
While the fans, coaches, student athletes, families, and community are the heart and soul of the athletic program , quality facilities and equipment are essential for a successful program. Without your support the odds of these dreams becoming a reality are greatly diminished.
If you have any suggestions or comments we would love to hear from you. Contact us to obtain a Dougla High Alumni Registration form, which will give us the information we need to keep you updated on events and projects. Look for future information on our commemoritive bricks and blocks in the next issue.
